Lisa's Substitute

Right now my favorite Simpson's episode (second season). Setting humor
aside it is worth watching. The juxtaposition of Mr. Bergstrom's
fatherly role to Homer's is poignant. Yet Homer is believably redeemed
and portrays the ability and priviledge of mediocre ('joe sixpack' in
this case) fathers, to influence and bring joy to the lives of their
children if they only care enough to try. And when Lisa reads her note
from Mr. Bergstrom I was teary-eyed. Dustin Hoffman and his lines are
awesome. For any local readers of this, you are invited to come watch
it with me or borrow it.
