Asheville

Arnie, Ella, and I just returned from our family get-a-way to the mountains. Yes, in fact, it WAS freezing cold. We drove an extra 2 hours outside of Asheville to hike to Linnville Gorge. When we got there, we met two other hikers who had spent the night on the trail and advised us not to go because everything was iced over and very slippery. It was beautiful to see, but with a baby, we decided it was just too dangerous. So, we clumsily slipped around for about 15 minutes and then got back into the car for the long drive back. We enjoyed a cold walk around the city of Asheville, though, and definitely want to go back when it's warm enough to enjoy everything even more. Mostly, it was nice to spend time, just the three of us, away from housework and internet and all the other distractions of life.
